Once Upon a Song...

Heartbreak is when you realize in the end that there is no fairytale and not everyone is entitled for a happy ending. When for you, dreams are meant for sleeping and wishes on a star just don't come true..

"Panaginip" is the title of the song I made when I was only left with used to Be's.  I was so in love with a guy. I have done my best for him to notice me. Time came when everybody was chasing after us. I was so full of giggles and love rush, not until the time he left. I have no idea where to find him. I was so depressed to finally realize that for years of waiting, he doesn't have feelings for me at all. I haven't heard from him for so long but I always pray that he's safe and sound. Now, I can, at last, wake up from a bad dream that hurts much more than a broken leg.

Crazy little thing called love!

I don't really have an idea of what love or crush really is on that night. For a 14 year old girl? What I just wanted all the time was to sing in front of many people. Funny, this happened a very long time ago. That was January 13 at Jade Valley, Timog Avenue, the debut birthday of my friend Ate Clang. I was invited to sing. After the program, all was invited to dance. I saw my friend dancing with her handsome escort, her classmate at the Manila Central University. Everybody was so happy dancing with their partners. It is up to you to believe me but when our eyes met, something feels so different. I was stunned when "Genesis Estrella", the escort of my friend, volleyball MVP player at MCU, a nursing student, asked me to dance. Of course I said yes! What happened to the rest of the night? You'll find out in this song I wrote entitled, "Genesis"

Years passed until I worked on this blog, only then I cared to look for Genesis on Social Networking Sites. He now graduated and I can say that he is now happy with his life. We haven't got the chance to get to know each other and I don't really expect him to remember me but thanks to him because at some point in my life, I met a "Genesis" who made me compose my first song. Love, Dreams and Life...These are some interesting topics that give color to music. For everyone, music is all about songs and instruments but for me, music is everywhere. I create songs through the sound of my everyday living. The birds I hear every morning, the sweet voices of everyone around me, the roar of thunder and the voice of the city; all of these contribute to my masterpiece. I write songs from the heart and it requires extreme emotions. Extreme happiness, extreme sadness, extreme anger or extreme desire for change.

I remember my first popular composition. I made it during the campaign period for the 2010 elections. It is dubbed as "Kay Noynoy ako". I made that song for hours out of my desire to have a better president and an ideal leader in the near future. I haven't thought this would reach not only our country but even some parts of the world. The most interesting part on this piece is that, it made my dad so proud of me. My dad whom I have not seen for almost 12 years. A music that made my mom happy, my mom who wanted a better life for me, who loved me and is still loving me, my mom who dedicated her life for me. a music that continued the dream of my loving brother, for one of us to be a recording artist someday.
